I know its been a while since we updated, but there are some good things afoot with regards to guylike.com! Sensi Soft’s new site is just amazing, and a good note to resume reviewing on
Sensi Soft have been in the industry for many years and this site is a great way of showing it off. The idea is that as you load the site, you are brought into the advertising style of London in the 1880s. As you scroll (using the buttons) through the content you are taken from the 1880s through history up-to 2030 in Tokyo.

TBWA\COMPACT are a niche French agency that handle campaigns with smaller budgets. Their new site is … well its just such a fun idea! This site is what you get when you just want to have fun with Flash. There are so many little things that make this site classic. Some of my favourite ones are: When you click “les compactants” (contacts I think :P) you see the staff running around France. Clicking on them brings up their personal bio’s.

I stumbled across the new French site for Alpha Romeo’s new 159. Man what an amazing site. When you arrive you are greeted by the car’s key. Hovering over it emits a glow from the key, symbolizing the fact that you are about to enter something special.

Nitro Group are focused on bridging the global reach market. If you need something launched around the world, they are the people to help you achieve your results. What I like about their site’s design is that it gives you the impression of flying through their work… or not being bound by the ‘2D’ aspect of the screen.

In keeping with the music themed sites, we bring you Minuit. Its a site for a band that are from New Zealand. Their new site takes you on a magical journey through a circular land as you explore the various area’s of the site. You start of creating a character and then once you have named it, you use the arrow keys to navigate around. Climbing over rocks, jumping over ponds … all while listening to their latest hit.

Ah, a good old music site. The new Pink Floyd box set “Oh, By The Way” is out, and this site is there to give you a taste of all the albums that are in the box set. What I find great about this site is the minimalism of it. You have the prism of light, from the Dark Side of the Moon album, which has been turned into a visual equalizer for the song samples that are randomly played from albums in the set.

sksantos.net is the portfolio site of Sean Kennedy Santos, who is a photographer from New York. When the site loads for the first time, the words “Black is the colour that says it all, period, end of story - Donna Karan” This is quite apt, as the site is predominantly black with red navigation. Since this is a portfolio site, I like the way that he has made it ALL about the images…no fancy menu, no crazy animation… just full-sized rich colourful images.

Cirque du Soleil is the legendary performance circus, and has a fittingly legendary website. I haven’t come across a menu that has grabbed me as much as this one. I suppose its loosely based on the menu that Apple uses for their iTunes album selection on the iPhone (well that is the 1st place that I remember seeing something like this) but this is a very well revamped version of it. The menu loads for the casting area of the site, where people who are interested in joining the show can find their niche. It breaks down the acts to 8 categories, and as you move your mouse over them, the others zoom/blur out of the foreground and the selected one will ‘evolve’ into the show time version of that niche.

Infinite Oz - Tin Man is something to behold. Drawing inspiration from the famous Zoomquilt Project, a group of artists got together to make the new mini site for SCI-FI channel’s new mini-series “Tin Man”. What makes Infinite Oz so much more than the original Zoomquilt one, is how they have managed to tie in atmospheric sounds and a ‘visual distortion’ between the scenes which give the viewer an immersive trip into the world of oz. Its something that is very hard to explain, very hard indeed, but the more you are in the experience the more you … I actually dont have a word for this… so I’m just going to call it “A marvelous trip into the inner-mind-hole”

Every once in a while you come across a site that has just what you need for a particular client. Problem is that most of the time the site will be completely awash with ads and will discourage you to return. Spoon Graphics is the brain child of Chris Spooner who is a graphic designer based in the UK. This blog is where Chris give tutorials on how to create little characters in photoshop all the way to proper brush use.
