Vivez l’experience 159

I stumbled across the new French site for Alpha Romeo’s new 159. Man what an amazing site. When you arrive you are greeted by the car’s key. Hovering over it emits a glow from the key, symbolizing the fact that you are about to enter something special.

Once the key is slotted in, the site gives you 5 options. Now my French isnt amazing, but the categories are Appearance, Passion, Safety, Exclusivity and Reality. Hovering over each of these tabs, will enlarge it, and bring out a background change. For example, hovering over the Apparence tab, will bring up a beautiful white feature and play a sparkling noise. Hovering over the Securite tab, brings up a thunder cloud with a thunderclap sound. Clicking on the Securite tab will load the security feature of the 159. This (as with all tabs) loads a full screen video based on the colour scheme for that tab.

The safety area is my favorite are because of the lightning strikes on the roof of the car, and the effect of the sparks. Once the car comes to a standstill text appears that gives an overview of the safety of the car. This area I find heavily influenced by the ‘tag cloud’ idea. Clicking on any of the links will bring out the text for that specific topic and any movies/pictures relating to it.

All in all I think that the design firm Soleil Noir has done an amazing job. They show the product off in the best way, bringing a sense of awe and passion out… which is what Alpha Romeo is all about.
